‘THE ILO PLAYHOUSE IS RELEASED AS KOTO’S FIRST CHILDREN’S CABIN.’
KOTO [KO-TO] The traditional Finnish word for ‘cosy at home’.
Our inspiration has been to create a beautiful space that children (and adults) can claim as their own, but also a structure that assumes an elegant and striking sculptural form, for the grown ups.
‘OUR ILO PLAYHOUSE IS HANDMADE IN THE UK. HANDCRAFTED USING LOCALLY SOURCED LARCH TIMBERS, RECYCLED RUBBER FLOORING AND ALL NATURAL PAINTS AND FINISHES.’

It started back in Norway where we wanted to create a space for our children that embodied the simplicity of the Scandinavian log cabin but with a modern aesthetic. A space that could be used for reading & play, a space that is left 'open' enough not to feel isolated, but still connected (to us) and very much their own play space. We have now revisited our original play space cabin, made it bigger and created a ‘flat-pack’ version here in the UK. Introducing the Koto Ilo House, Finnish for Joy.
It’s a space that children can be inspired in, aimed at stimulating kids imaginations and development. Our passion is to create beautiful unique and original spaces using high quality natural, sustainable materials, ensuring long lasting products that can be used for years to come.
