Launching Koto at The Point - Polzeath

Together, Koto and The Point at Polzeath have created a design-led eco-cabin retreat, perfect for families to be closer to the wild Cornish nature and fresh sea air.

Koto's cutting-edge design, Darren Hawkes' award-winning landscaping, and the stunning setting of The Point are being merged in an ambitious project, forming a pioneering eco-extension to the existing holiday facilities of The Point, located in the Polzeath hills.

In partnership with Darren Hawkes Landscapes, Darren has over 20 years of experience working in the landscaping industry. He has won a number of gold medals at RHS Chelsea Flower Show and continues to be involved with the Show as an RHS judge.

Koto at The Point.

Spring 2023 sees the launch of 17 Koto cabins designed exclusively for The Point for sale on a 60-year term. The beautifully crafted luxury cabins are between 115 - 119m2 (GEFA) and come in two 3-bed design variations. Each cabin will be delivered and installed and comes with a curated furniture package. Prices start from £650,000 furnished and ready to move in.

Koto has designed the cabins to sit sympathetically within the long grasses and wildflowers in harmony with the verdant landscape. Primarily constructed from timber and glass, each Koto cabin has its own private courtyard space, encouraging users to step out and embrace the beautiful views whilst offering shelter from the Cornish elements.

Located a stone's throw away from some of the UK’s finest beaches, The Point is a haven for surfers and nature enthusiasts. Cabin owners can take advantage of The Point’s leisure offerings including a golf course, gym, indoor swimming pool, bar, restaurant and tennis facilities making it the perfect retreat for everyone to enjoy.

Wild.

Sustainability is at the core of this holiday home community development. A key focus of this design is building the cabins with nature to protect the environment and to encourage biophilic living; a connectedness between people and the natural world.

Large areas of rewilding will set the scene for the new subtle and natural escapes, with wildlife corridors and wildflower margins paving the way for guests. The efforts to rewild The Point’s golf course are well underway including the addition of bug hotels and the planting of fescue grasses in expansive areas.

Design led.

The black charred timber cladding of the cabins blends seamlessly into the Cornish landscape. Each cabin offers floor to ceiling glazing and large sliding doors that open onto the terrace, dissolving boundaries between outside and in.

Within the minimal interior, the soft and muted palette does not distract from the views but emphasises the picturesque landscape and coastline. While the main living space is open plan, the bedrooms and bathrooms are designed to be more tucked away from the main living area, offering a space to retreat.

The Koto design team will work with you to choose your interiors and furniture to ensure your dream coastal cabin is delivered to your specifications, ready to plug and play.

About Koto.

Modular Architecture - Sustainable by necessity.

Koto delivers beautifully crafted, architect designed, energy neutral homes and cabins. All our buildings are produced to the very highest standards and delivered whole and complete directly to your site. Every Koto home has been crafted with the utmost respect for both our environment and the people we work with. The Koto studio co-founded by Zoe, Johnathon and Theo design modular houses, cabins and sculptural small buildings, with each one drawing inspiration from Scandinavian design and culture. Co-founders, Johnathon and Zoë Little, returned from living on the shores of Norway’s fjords with a deep appreciation of the local aesthetic and environment. As the brand progressed, Koto began looking further east to the minimalist world of Japanese design and their focus on social functionality. This is something that has always fascinated co-founder and architect Theo Dales. Koto shares their emphasis on clean and simple details that provide a sense of calm. This exploration has helped Koto’s designs evolve into the carefully-considered works they are today.

“As both designers and parents, we recognise the dynamic relationship between nature, quality design and one of life’s great luxuries – spending time with friends and family. Each and every Koto home embodies this ethos.”
Zoe Little - Co-Founder Koto.
