RELAX AND RECHARGE

With Christmas day around the corner and festivities in full swing - whether virtual or in person - we look forward to spending cherished time with loved ones this Christmas. However what is a joyous, fun-filled month for many can be an overwhelming time for others, especially whilst navigating the challenges that the ongoing pandemic presents.

So, throughout the holiday, be kind to yourself, and prioritise your mental wellness; take a much deserved break.

Relax and Recharge.

The pressure created by December’s activities mounts up easily as to-do lists continue to grow throughout the month; from decorating your home and buying gifts to tying those loose ends up at work. Sleep can often be impacted by such pressures which is why it is vital to slow down from your day-to-day life during the holidays, and take time for yourself to relax.

In between gatherings - at home or on Zoom - indulge in self care; practice mindfulness, soak in warm baths, reflect on the year whilst journaling, get cosy with beautiful earthy textured blankets by the fire, read a book or listen to enriching music. With each self care moment invested, we become more rested and recharged, ready for the new year ahead.

Disconnect and Go Outdoors.

As certified fanatics of the great outdoors, we believe there is no better way to relax than going off-grid and connecting with nature. Given the seasonal shorter days and dark early evenings, go on a simple walk during daylight hours and immerse yourself in the beauty that nature creates. Getting some fresh air with family and friends over the holidays without being connected to any form of technology is invigorating and can be revitalising for both body and mind.

Presence over Presents.

Your presence at this time of year is the most fulfilling way to switch off and enjoy the festive period. Be in the moment. Focus on the feasts you’re eating and drinking, and the conversation you’re having with the people close to you. Embrace the pure joy of living in the present.

There are a number of reasons why taking a break this Christmas is so important, and in doing so ensures a fresh mindset for the year to come.

We would like to say a huge thank you for your ongoing support this year and we hope to connect with even more of you in 2022. Wherever you are this holiday season, we are sending our warmest wishes to you.

Merry Christmas from Koto!
