Reconnecting with nature
‘Three simple ways to reconnect with nature today.’
Our prefabricated homes are our sanctuaries, acting as safe havens from the chaos of day-to-day life. At Koto, we also find nature to be a sanctuary from the constant buzz of modern living.
Nature inspires and is visibly represented in each of our high-quality home and cabin designs; our key principle with each Koto product is to connect people to the natural environment. There are a number of simple ways we can reconnect with nature today, wherever we may be.
| Escape to your home or cabin.
In response to the ongoing uncertainty of travel across the world, cabin staycations and retreats nestled in nature offer the perfect opportunity for an off-grid getaway, encouraging users to truly switch off and connect to the natural world in harmony.
Koto was founded to create an opportunity to escape to nature in the comfort of small and beautiful structures. By maximising natural light and framing scenic views with large glazing, each Koto building offers the user an immersive space that enables a direct connection to nature.
| Bring the outside in.
Blur the lines between indoor and outdoor by inviting nature into your living space at home. Potted and hanging house plants offer tranquil and natural views throughout a home interior whilst exuding calmness. Another effective way to enhance connectedness to nature is to consider the interior materials of your home by choosing natural textures such as wood, stone, and wool.
Biophilic interior design is something that we use in each Koto project as it is not just aesthetically pleasing, studies show that it can also provide an extensive range of sustained benefits, both physical and psychological.
| Be present in nature.
Simply spend time outdoors and make a concerted effort to be present with your surroundings when doing so. Whether that be reading, meditating, walking, running, cycling or surfing, immerse yourself in the beauty of the park, wood, or sun-soaked beach you find yourself in.
There is a multitude of beneficial effects that exposure to the natural world has on health, reducing stress and promoting wellbeing.
